If you want to give something special to an expectant mother give hand made. Audrey Elliott has a passion for knitting. She knits day and night because she has a disability in her neck and knitting is one way that helps relieve her pain. She has always loved knitting but she never thought that this passion would one day become a pain reliever.
She is also the type of knitter who can knit baby outfits after baby outfits and never get bored of it. She knits a vintage style type sweater with matching bonnet and booties. I knew her from various crafts shows we used to attend together until it got so she could not sit too long in a chair unless it was the one she has at home.
We made a deal that I would sell her knitted items with my crafts. I would make a small commission and she could then stop coming to shows. Well, needless to say, it didn’t take long and a lot of her supply was gone. I was working full time and doing crafts shows on the weekends was becoming very tiring. Once the joy is taken out of it, it isn’t worth it.
By this time, she had really stocked me up for the upcoming fall but I had to disappoint her and tell her that I had had enough with the shows and would try to continue selling online or by local advertising. Well, again, I had to get her to take custom orders because people wanted 2 different colors etc.

You have no idea how much these baby outfits are appreciated by an expectant mother because they are not mass produced. Audrey makes them with a lot of care and love in each stitch. Audrey knits for me and any organization that gives them to premature babies.
She isn’t doing this to get rich in dollar value, all she wants is enough money to buy more wool. She is doing this because it is her passion and as mentioned earlier, to help her keep the pain in her neck off her mind.
